The moment you lay eyes on the latest Mitsubishi L200, you know you're in for a treat. With its curvaceous lines and purposeful front end, which was inspired by the Mitsubishi enduro racer, this is a car that is just as satisfying to look at as it is to drive.
The bonnet-mounted air scoop on the previous model has been replaced by the evocative Mount Fuji grille, giving the new L200 a menacing stance that means business. But there's a lot more to the new Mitsubishi L200 than good looks alone.
Beneath the bonnet is a new 2.5-litre DI-D common-rail turbo diesel engine, delivering better performance and improved fuel economy. Power is increased from 114 bhp to 134 bhp, and the latest power-plant delivers an impressive 232 lb ft of torque (compared to 177 lb ft on the existing model). Despite this improved punch, the new engine is still around 20 per cent more economical than its predecessor and fully compliant with Euro-4 emissions regulations.
The L200 has always been synonymous with outstanding build-quality and excellent levels of specification, but this new L200 is a revelation - the dash is shapely, the dials stunning, and the ergonomics exceptional.
